Privacy Policy

FlowLearning ("FlowLearning", "we", "us") is a study companion that helps students plan their study time, organize courses, practice with flashcards and tests, and chat with an AI study companion. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to flowlearning.app and related FlowLearning services.

Account information. When you create an account with email and password or with Google sign-in, we receive your name, email address, and (for Google sign-in) your Google profile picture. Google sign-in is used only to authenticate you — we do not access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or any other Google service data.

Academic profile. Information you choose to enter, such as grade level, school name, semester dates, target GPA, weekly study availability, and study preferences.

Study content. Courses, curriculum topics, flashcards, practice tests and results, study guides, calendar/study blocks, classroom test dates and grades, and chat messages with the AI companion.

Feedback. Feedback you submit through the in-app feedback form, including the page you were on if you choose to include it.

Usage data. Basic product analytics (pages visited, feature usage) used to improve the app.

• Provide the core service: planning, flashcards, practice tests, progress tracking, and scheduling.
• Personalize the AI study companion. A summary of your academic profile (name, grade level, courses, recent results, weak topics, and upcoming tests) is included in prompts sent to our AI provider so answers are relevant to you.
• Send transactional email, such as account confirmation and password reset messages.
• Review feedback, maintain security, and prevent misuse of the service.

FlowLearning uses Google's Gemini models to generate study guides, flashcards, practice tests, and chat responses. When you use these features, the text of your request plus a summary of your academic context is sent to the AI provider to produce a response. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Your data is stored in our hosted database with row-level security so each student can only access their own records. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text. Some study content (such as curriculum explanations and flashcard explanations) is shared anonymously across all students to reduce duplication; this shared content never includes your name, email, or results.

• We never sell your personal information.
• We never show advertising or share data with advertisers.
• We never access your Google account data beyond basic sign-in profile fields.

We keep your data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below; we will delete it within 30 days. Password-reset and confirmation emails contain one-time links that expire automatically.

FlowLearning is designed for high-school and college students. If you are under 13, you may not create an account. Students between 13 and 18 should review this policy with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; contact us if you believe a child under 13 has created an account and we will delete it.

FlowLearning is a consumer service accessed directly by students for self-directed study. We do not contract with schools or act as a "school official" under FERPA, nor do we collect or manage official educational records. Any courses, test dates, or grades entered into FlowLearning are self-reported by the student solely for personal study planning.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
