Frequently asked questions
How the planner, practice tests, flashcards, and AI Companion work — and what it costs.
FlowLearning is a study companion built for AP students. You add your AP courses, upcoming tests with the units they cover, and the hours you can actually study. FlowLearning then builds a realistic day-by-day plan with practice tests, flashcards, and an AI study companion, and tracks your mastery and predicted grades as you work.
Yes — you can sign up and start studying free. There is no paid plan required to get started, and no credit card is needed to create an account.
FlowLearning includes a built-in catalog covering all official AP courses, organized by their real units and topics. When you add an AP course, its unit summaries and explanations are ready immediately — no setup or waiting. You can also create custom, non-AP courses and add your own topics.
Three steps: (1) add your AP course from the built-in catalog, (2) add your upcoming test with its date and the units it covers, (3) set the days and hours you can study. Click “Plan my studies” and FlowLearning fills your calendar with focused study sessions before test day.
You pick a course and the units you want to be tested on, and FlowLearning builds a multiple-choice or free-response practice test. You get instant feedback with explanations for every question, and your results feed directly into your mastery tracking and future study plan.
No. FlowLearning keeps a shared library of questions per AP subject and unit, and it actively avoids repeating what you've already seen — previously answered questions are excluded.
Flashcards are generated per course and topic, and your weak spots from practice tests can be turned straight into new cards. Every card has an Explain button that produces a step-by-step explanation, including worked math.
The AI Companion is your personalized chat assistant scoped to your course, a specific unit, or a concept. Ask it to explain something you're stuck on, generate a study guide tailored to your progress, or build a practice test on demand. It answers using your actual course materials and performance.
Yes. Your predicted grade combines your logged test scores with your practice performance. Real test results weigh more than practice, recent performance counts more than old, and material you haven't been tested on yet is estimated conservatively instead of being treated as a zero or an A.
Yes. Your courses, tests, plans, and results belong to your account and are protected by row-level security — other students can never see them. Shared content libraries (like practice questions) contain no personal information. See the Privacy Policy for details.
The planner looks at your test dates, the units each test covers, how strong you are in each topic, and your available hours. It schedules your weakest, most urgent topics first, spreads review across the days before each test using spaced repetition, and never books more time than you actually have.
Earlier is always better, but FlowLearning adapts to whatever time you have. With weeks to go, it spaces practice out for long-term retention. With only a day or two left, it automatically concentrates your remaining free hours on the weakest topics the test covers — a focused final push instead of filler sessions.
Spaced repetition means reviewing material at increasing intervals instead of cramming once. It's one of the most well-established techniques in learning science for long-term retention. FlowLearning builds it into your schedule automatically, so old topics resurface for review right before you'd forget them.
